Individual Assistance for Our Families
Our Center has a support team devoted to guiding and assisting families who have concerns about their child’s social, emotional, and behavioral development. Our mission is to make a difference in the community by giving children the proper tools to navigate their emotions for themselves and continually practice kindness to others.
Studies show that implementing social emotional awareness from a young age allows for greater success and resilience in children as they grow up. We offer small group social skills classes for preschool and UPK classes. The room is also utilized as a resource for students who need to self-regulate and identify their emotions.
The PWCC Counseling Corner:
- assists families to obtain services
- provides support for afterschool children
- collaborates with teachers and families
We work to create a successful emotional climate in the child’s classroom. We are committed to fostering a comforting and emotionally supportive atmosphere for the children of Port Washington. We believe in cultural competence and supporting children through kindness.
